Natural and human induced hazards such as floods, landslides, prolonged dry spells,diseases, earthquakes wind and hailstorms are some of the frequent occurrences while climate change and climate variability adds a new dimension to community risk and vulnerability.
In the past decade, on average more than 200,000 people were affected every year by disasters ranging from floods, disease epidemics, prolonged dry spells, to landslides. Over 1000 households have been affected by floods since 2013 to-date with some households still hosted in IDP Camps.
In 2017, 16 were People confirmed dead in landslide. This happened in Kasika village, Rukoki subcounty, Kasese District in Uganda.
