The Key population at risk are the women and children
“Kasese as a district remains one of the most affected districts in Uganda faced with challenges of increased cases of both none and communicable diseases according to the HMIS (Health Management Information System) report 2020” most of these conditions are believed to be as a result of poor health habits which could as well be affiliated to the high levels of poverty within the community.
It is also observed that that most patients (women and children) will seek medical attention in the late stages of disease, a big contributing factor that results into death which could have been prevented if medical attention was sought earlier.
Basing on these findings, an innovative technical intervention is highly needed to provide sustainable measures.
Therefore, RCDNET has considered implementing a clinical room and a laboratory to start with mitigating these highlighted challenges at earliest stage.
Concept
To Implement a health unit the will serve the needy community currently being supported by RCDNET to improve health especially sexual reproductive health. The project will put in place a functional health unit with one Doctor’s room, a laboratory, waiting room, a bed rest room, reception and rest rooms among others
The unit will provide both preventive and curative medical services and make referrals. This initiative will supplement efforts RCDNET is offering to improve lives and reduce poverty and preventable deaths in Kasese. The Key population at risk (women and children) shall receive these services free of charge.
