Background: In 2002 Bwambale Adonia died as a result of Chronic Ulcers leaving a widow and 10 children helpless because he was the bread earner for his family, his son Mugisha 08th born male child and 09 others with their mother lived in Katulu village, in Kilembe Subcounty, in Kasese district, Western Uganda in a difficult situation that included having one meal a day, inadequate clothing, Lack of school fees and shelter. There mother struggled to bring them up. With the single mother’s hard work and help from well-wishers, Mugisha completed Primary seven, he performed well and scored Division 01, this convinced the Local government to offer him a 04 years scholarship to attend high school (S1-S4). He again performed well and scored Division 01 at S.4 in 2007, this also convinced his former school to support him to complete Advanced level till 2009. By God’s Grace, he joined University and later graduated with Bachelors in Information Technology. While pursuing his education, Mugisha attained computer skills and he was good at mathematics, he volunteered to teach his fellows in the community and schools started calling him for the same.
Mugisha says, “From humble families, we together walked to school every morning. I looked at them struggling to learn something I Already knew, and the best I could afford was to help to conduct some lessons on my own freely”.
He gained popularity and the work load increased, he mobilized other 4 members to support him in order to sustain the project, he also established Ndyakurungi ITECH Computer solutions a business name that allowed him to operate. He later started to sponsor projects to support his fellow Orphans and other Vulnerable children (OVCs) using the money he collected from schools where he trained, this charitable work led to the birth of Rwenzori Community Development Network (RCDNET) in 2010 as a non-governmental, nonprofit, Charitable, community-based Organization to empower the young children, Youth and the Women leaving in underdeveloped communities.
To date, ITECH Computer solutions is an operation social enterprise and supports projects regularly.
In 2023, Rwenzori Community Development Network (RCDNET) was Incorporated and is legally operating as RCDNET Charitable Initiatives Uganda.

Our approach:
a. Self Help Groups
We form Self-Help Groups in the community in order to address causes in specific interest groups of Young girls, Women, Youth and People with disabilities.
We engage self-help groups in interventions that Impact them economically, socially and build resilience. Self-Help group members are engaged in problem identification and solving.
b. Innovative follow up
After Successful training events always, we integrate follow-up to provide further support, skill development, and continuous improvement to promote income generation and Sustainability.
Our Volunteers responsible for the training plans, monitoring and evaluation join hands to ensure success.
