Education Scholarship Scheme “The Give me a chance campaign”
The Rwenzori region consisting of 7 districts (Kabarole, Kyenjojo, Kamwenge, Kasese, Kyegegwa,Ntoroko and Bundibugyo) of Western Uganda has for decades been characterized by conflicts associated with Politics, cultural and ethnic differences that exist among the people of the region and devastating floods that severely impacts their lives and livelihoods. Homes were destroyed, properties were lost, and many families displaced and forced to live in temporary camps.
As a result, people did not access quality education and opportunity to invest. To date, the poverty levels have remained high and most families are not able to sponsor their children to go to school. Immediate relief efforts have provided temporary aid, but there is an urgent need for long-term solutions to restore and sustain the livelihoods of these poor families in the region.
RCDNET recognizes that empowering these families with education at Primary , Secondary, University and Vocational schools and resources is essential for their recovery and future resilience.The “Give me a chance education scholarship” is intended to collect money for education-support and create chances for learned future leaders who will participate in making informed decisions that shall cause sustainable development in the region.
Your donation will provide requirements for a learner to stay in class and complete his/her studies. We will support at these levels; Primary , Secondary, University and Vocational schools.
